Unapologetic
The porcupine swishsteps
across the road
to saunter with unexpected
grace
up
the steep and snowy bank
leaving a trail like
a zipper
or a creek that’s left
its bed
eager to explore the peelings
of its own hunger
as peace runs
unapologetic
amid the shifting quills
of circumstance.
Your poems often leave me speechless, moved, smiling and with a feeling of connection. Especially this one.
Thank you, Tricia!
