Spring Tide
As their calls rippled past you
wondered
at how easily you breathed
underwater
and drifted untroubled
within that widening
so when
dreaming leaves
you at the shore of this valley
soaked in
not
whale song
but coyote
for a moment
you appreciate the weight of their
wails
as they vibrate and sway
building in spirals
as if breaching before you
an invitation to
not
peace
but the spring tide they call to
and
the voice you
hear now
as it rises
within.
